Côtes Rocheuses 2023 is benchmark, straight down the line, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. The Merlot-dominated blend delivers a generous aromatic impression, opening with blackberry and ripe plum before moving into an alluring array of earthy and oak-influenced characters. Vanilla, cocoa and tobacco emerge alongside subtle spices, creating a wine with plenty enough to explore.
The fruit is dark and deep while the palate is at the full end of medium-bodied and with just enough structure to make it serious Bordeaux but soft enough to make it thoroughly easily drinkable alongside a very wide variety of different foods.
Enjoy it now or cellar through to 2032. Roast lamb shoulder, grilled beef with mushrooms or slow-cooked beef cheeks would all make excellent companions or any of your favourite pasta dishes, pizza, lasagna, etc. A rewarding Saint-Émilion for anyone who enjoys dark fruit with a distinctly savoury Bordeaux accent.
