There is something wonderfully appealing about a rosé that knows exactly what it wants to be: fresh, fruity, uncomplicated and thoroughly enjoyable in relaxed situations. Domaine de Pignan’s À l’Ombre de l’Olivier 2025 is precisely that sort of wine. Its salmon-copper colour sets an inviting tone, followed by gentle earthy aromas and the ethereal fragrance of wild strawberries and fresh raspberries.
On the palate, this is all about refreshment. Crisp, dry, lively and fruit-forward, it delivers the same delightful berry character suggested by the nose, with an earthy undertone providing a little extra interest. The absence of oak allows the fruit to speak for itself, while the refreshing finish keeps everything moving along beautifully.
Ready to drink now and best enjoyed through 2027, preferably served nicely chilled at 8°C. Pair it with grilled prawns, a tomato and basil tart or a leisurely Mediterranean-style lunch. A charming, thoroughly drinkable ros-é that makes life feel ros-y!
