Because this is a mixed dozen, it has to be added to your cart in multiples of 12 bottles. This mixed dozen has been priced at $39.95 per bottle because $39.95 x 12 = $479.40, which is the correct price to pay for it.
There are 8 bottles of red, two of white, one of rosé, and one Sauternes in this suggested mixed dozen. And there are 10 different individual wines:
- Château Marzy Pomerol 2018. Amazing finesse, perfume lift, oaky creaminess, licorice, mintiness, while the palate is full, very smooth, elegant, and long, laying down fine tannins with every sip, building to chewiness. Merlot/Cab Franc. Usually $84.95 per bottle. 2 bottles in this mixed dozen.
- Château Lapelletrie Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2017. Brawny, muscular, structured, and aromatically powerful, this is a wine of decadent intensity to be drunk now or cellared for a decade or more. Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend. Usually $60.95 per bottle. 1 bottle in this mixed dozen.
- Bruyère et David Saint-Joseph “Les Parcelles” 2020 from the Rhône Valley. Bam! Smoky, meaty, spicy, plush fruit, savoury nuances, earthy warmth, forest floor, powdered cocoa, crispy bacon, while the palate is lush, medium full with fine tannin, breadth and length. 100% Shiraz. Usually $72.95 per bottle. One bottle in this mixed dozen.
- Château Palais Cardinal “La Réserve” Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2019. The best value Saint-Émilion Grand Cru I’ve ever tasted, flamboyantly turbocharged in the superlative 2019 vintage conditions. Fruit depth, balance, and length. Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend. Usually $45.95 per bottle. 2 bottles in this mixed dozen.
- Château Les Graves de Viaud “Réserve” 2016 from Bourg in Bordeaux. Truly epic Bordeaux from a classic vintage, the kind of year when Mother Nature smiled benevolently and at length and grapes could be left out in the fading summer warmth deep into Autumn to accumulate ever more profound levels of expression, body, and power. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Usually $48.95 per bottle. One bottle in this mixed dozen.
- “Le P’tit Canon” de Château Lariveau, Canon-Fronsac 2019. Intensely savoury fruit depth, deep earthiness, blackberries, blueberries, licorice, cherries, claret-like nuance that will exaggerate with age, and then a palate that is tight with gripping tannin, intense juiciness, and length. Decant! Merlot/Cab Franc. Usually $39.95 per bottle. 1 bottle in this mixed dozen.
- Baudry-Dutour “Les 3 Coteaux” Chinon 2019. Pure Chenin Blanc. This wine is a classic of the type: aromatically it has Burgundian fruit reminiscent of Chablis, apples, peach, and stone, a typical note of Lanolin, and then a palate that is tight, dry, and long. Fantastic cellar potential. Usually $42.95 per bottle. One bottle in this mixed dozen.
- Baudry-Dutour “La Chapinière” Sauvignon Blanc 2020 from Touraine in the Loire Valley. Explosive aromatic expression, perfume cloud, talcum, lime, lemon tart, and then a palate that is exquisitely focused and long. Usually $30.95. 1 bottle in this dozen.
- Domaine La Décelle “Réserve” WHITE Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages/Valréas blanc 2021. 50/50 Marsanne/Viognier blend. Extraordinary Rhône white from an idiosyncratic vintage. Gorgeous perfume with apricots, peach, mango, lemon sherbet, barrel ferment smokiness, oak and coconut, exotic and so fresh and complex. Dangerously drinkable. Usually $32.95 per bottle. 1 bottle in this mixed dozen.
- Château Mauras Sauternes 2013 from Bordeaux. Sweet wine. Explosive caramel, marmalade, cocoa, cumquat, earth, and oak. Quintessential Sauternes aromatics but the palate is not syrupy at all. For sure the initial attack is sweet and rich but the firm acidity of 2013 quickly pulls it all together and the finish is very fresh and more-ish. An extraordinarily yummy and drinkable Sauternes with at least 7 years ahead of it. Won a gold medal at the Grands Vins de France wine show. Usually $45.95 per bottle. One 500ml bottle in this mixed dozen.
This works out at $636.4 of wine for today’s special price of $479.40, which is a discount of 24.7%. Please note that today’s special price only applies to these wines when they are ordered as this suggested mixed dozen.
How to order.
Because this is a mixed dozen, it has to be added to your cart in multiples of 12. So to order one of these mixed dozens, put 12 bottles in your cart, or to order two of these mixed dozens, put 24 bottles in your cart, etc. This mixed dozen has been priced at $39.95 per bottle because $39.95 x 12 = $479.40, which is the correct price to pay for it.
Please also note that if the stock counter towards the top of this page is showing “792 in stock”, for example, that means that there are 66 mixed dozens available because 792 divided by 12=66. Or if it showed there were “12 in stock” that doesn’t mean that there are 12 of these suggested mixed dozens available but actually just one of them because 12 divided by 12=1, etc. In other words, the stock count figure shows the total number of bottles not the number of dozens available.
