Description
Château Palais Cardinal “La Réserve” Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2019.
22% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and balance is Merlot.
Thoroughly underpriced and the best value Saint-Émilion Grand Cru I’ve ever tasted, flamboyantly turbocharged in the superlative 2019 vintage conditions. Incredible fruit perfume of delineated purity, rose petals and tar, morello cherry essence, toasty oak and bbq bacon notes, and a palate that is perfectly balanced, Old School Bordeaux in its food-friendly balance of fruit and savouriness, and fine length that just seems to go and go in the mouth. A magic Saint-Émilion at any price but at today’s price it is impossible not to declare this a blatant bargain. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru for a basic Saint-Émilion village price. The embodiment of where The Other Bordeaux is coming from and what it strives to import in every shipment.
Drink now to 2030
