Tasting Note
A striking over-performer that punches well above its classification, this 2024 Villages Rouge clearly reflects its proximity to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The nose is powerful with dark, brooding Grenache fruit—blackberries and ripe black cherry—layered with notes of Cherry Ripe chocolate, fruit cordial intensity and a subtle earthy openness. Despite its richness, the aromatics remain pure and well-defined. The palate is dry, structured and serious, delivering full-bodied weight with fine tannins and a composed, claret-like gravitas. There is both power and poise here, with savoury undertones adding complexity to the generous fruit core. The finish is long, balanced and convincing, marking this as a complete and highly satisfying Rhône red that will continue to evolve beautifully in bottle.
