Tasting Note:
This is a beautifully composed Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, offering both richness and refinement in equal measure. The bouquet is vibrant, meaty, muscular and deeply inviting, opening with ripe black cherry, plum, and blackberry, layered with notes of cedar, cocoa, saucisson, and subtle spice. Hints of autumnal earth, dried leaves, and a touch of graphite lend a classic Right Bank sophistication.
On the palate, the wine is plush and enveloping, driven by the generosity of Merlot. Silky, well-integrated tannins provide structure without heaviness, supporting layers of dark fruit, mocha, and spice. The oak influence is finely judged, contributing warmth and complexity without overpowering the wine’s natural balance.
The finish is long, smooth, and quietly powerful, with lingering notes of dark berries and savoury nuance. Drinking beautifully now with decanting, it will continue to evolve gracefully over the next decade. A superb partner to roast lamb, duck, or mushroom-based dishes, this is a polished and expressive Grand Cru.
