Producer: Château Peyreblanque

Grape Variety: 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Muscadelle

Winemaking:
Named after its limestone-rich terroir—“white stones” in the Gascon dialect—Château Peyreblanque is crafted to reflect both site and tradition. The grapes are fermented and matured entirely in French oak barrels, allowing for a harmonious integration of fruit and oak influence. Lees ageing enhances texture and complexity, while careful temperature control during fermentation preserves aromatic precision. The balance between Sauvignon Blanc’s freshness and Muscadelle’s aromatic richness is finely tuned, resulting in a wine that is both expressive and structured.
Tasting Note:
Château Peyreblanque Graves Blanc 2024 is a beautifully composed and characterful white Bordeaux that captures the essence of its limestone terroir. The nose opens with an inviting bouquet of white flowers, ripe yellow fruits, and subtle citrus, layered with elegant toasty notes from barrel ageing and an unmistakable puff of gunpowder smoke. Hints of honeyed blossom and soft spice add further depth and intrigue.
On the palate, the wine is textured and generous, yet retains a refined freshness that keeps it lively and poised. The interplay between creamy texture and bright acidity creates a seamless balance, with flavours of peach, baked apple, and lemon curd unfolding alongside delicate oak nuances. The Muscadelle brings a rounded, aromatic charm, while Sauvignon Blanc provides lift and structure.
The finish is long, smooth, and gently toasty, leaving a lasting impression of richness and finesse. Enjoy now or cellar for 4 years and beyond. A superb match for scallops, grilled sea bass with garlic and lemon, veal blanquette, or Pyrenean sheep’s cheese, Pecorino or other crumbly ones like it.
