Description
#6. La Croix des Aubrais Pauillac 2020. NEW TO TOB.
A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Petit Verdot.
Pauillac is arguably the dominant red wine district of Bordeaux, being home to behemoths such as Château Lafite Rothschild and Château Latour, and is a place of hommage for lovers of fine red wine and Cabernet Sauvignon in particular. Pauillac makes Bordeaux’s most cellarable reds and 2020 was one of its greatest vintages of recent years. This wine was made in the cellars of legendary Pauillac estate Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse Lalande.
Dense dark fruit with a polished sheen, slick and intense, but shrouded in a perfume of violets, cedar, tobacco, smoke, and oak, while the palate is full and firm, mouth-coating with silky body and serious slaty tannins. Powerful but stylish and built for the long haul.
