100% Pinot Noir from Verdigny, one of the most prestigious villages of Sancerre.
It’s aromatically pungent with meaty smokiness, earthy, ripe and mellow fruit, while the palate is at the full end of medium-bodied, bordering on richness by the typical standards of Sancerre Pinot Noir, but still with a firm acid backbone that ensures it a very strong future in the cellar and that makes this an exceptional accompaniment to rich food. A really punchy and forward Pinot Noir with incision, depth and power. In terms of bang-for-buck, this is the best Sancerre Pinot I have ever tasted.
Update, 19th August 2025: Shipment arrived today and I opened one of these for quality control purposes and it’s looking fabulous. Decanting is recommended and don’t serve too cool (serve at room temperature, not cellar temp’).
