THE WINES:
- The Best White I’ve Ever Imported. Aromatic and palate intensity in spades delivering knock-out drink-now pleasure plus the potential to cellar for a decade or more. Pairs spectacularly with creamy chicken or pork dishes (esp. if with tarragon or dill in the sauce), rich seafood like lobster and crab, lighter meats like veal, soft cheeses (especially goat’s cheese), and rustic salads with tangy vinaigrettes. Unmissably good. Usually $94.95 per bottle.
- Pristine Sancerre. Exquisite Sauvignon Blanc from the variety’s most famous region. Goes spectacularly well with goat’s cheese and anything that contains it (think: asparagus and goat’s cheese quiches, rustic salads, etc), as well as fish – esp. barramundi – and chicken dishes. Usually $68.95 per bottle.
- Perfect Petit Chablis. Quintessential cool climate Chardonnay with zesty zing and stone fruit aromas. Perfect with anything served in a creamy sauce from chicken to seafood, and pasta classics like Carbonara, as well as creamy soft cheeses like Brie, Camembert, Brillat Savarin, etc. If you like cooking with cheese and/or butter in any way, shape, or form, then crisp Petit Chablis like this is what you need! Usually $53.95 per bottle.
- Decadent Ardèche Chardonnay. Richly ripe and oak influenced aromatics with a generous palate of soft, mouth-coating texture. Drinks well on its own or stands up beautifully with spice-driven Asian foods in all their many guises – Indian, Chinese, Thai, etc. Usually $43.95 per bottle.
- Benchmark Loire Sauvignon Blanc. Punchy varietal purity, floral and gooseberry fruit goodness, and a vibrantly fresh palate that marries perfectly with goat’s cheese and herb salads, asparagus, seafood platters, oysters, or dishes featuring fresh herbs like dill, parsley, and basil. Usually $37.95 per bottle.
- Rosé from where the Rhône meets the Med. Rosé develops wonderful aromatic intensity over the first couple of years of its life and this one is hitting its straps now with complex ripe fruit, rose hip tea and confit citrus notes, while the palate is flavoursome, textured, and long. Next level rosé that looks incredible with grilled prawns, tuna, or salmon, Bouillabaisse (fish stew), ratatouille, or herb-roasted chicken. Usually $35.95 per bottle.
