From the chalky hill of “Le Puy” overlooking the right bank of the Vienne, the Clos du Pin 2020 is a superb expression of old-vine Cabernet Franc planted between 1929 and 1949 on sandy soils with limestone substructure. This wine delivers a dark, vibrant ruby hue and a beautifully composed aromatic profile, marrying notes of macerated morello cherry with delicate oak, almond wood, and a faint earthy spice.
The palate is harmonious and elegant—broad, rounded, and long—with polished, fine-grained tannins and a softness that lends it a Burgundian silhouette. There’s depth and tension without harshness, creating a wine of real finesse and longevity. Already in fine drinking form, but with the structure to age gracefully.
Drink from 2025 to 2030+. Perfect alongside duck confit, roast lamb with herbs, or wild mushroom dishes.
