Grape Varieties: 60% Mourvèdre, 40% Grenache

Tasting Note:
Hailing from what is widely regarded as a historic vintage for Roussillon, L’Amourette 2021 is a wine of profound character and aging potential. A brooding black-ruby in the glass, it bursts from the glass with heady aromatics: ripe blueberry compote, Mourvèdre’s gamey meat and tar notes, crushed herbs, and smoky graphite. It’s both wild and hauntingly perfumed, delivering a sensory duality of dark fruit and earthy flavour.
The palate is bold, powerful, and tightly structured—what feels at first like a Bordeaux-like backbone soon reveals southern heft, carried on muscular tannins and a resonant, full-bodied richness. Grenache lends fruit sweetness and lift, but Mourvèdre is the undeniable soul of this cuvée. Despite its 15% ABV, the wine retains superb freshness and balance.
Drink now for its youthful vigour or cellar confidently through 2032. Ideal with grilled lamb, venison stew, or smoky eggplant dishes. This is a wine to buy in quantity: one for the table, one for the cellar.
