“Frigoule” Ardèche Shiraz 2023 is a pure and powerful take on Syrah from the sun-drenched hillsides of southern France. Named after the Provençal word for wild thyme (“Frigoule”), this wine captures the essence of the garrigue-scented landscape. In the glass, it’s a deep garnet with purple glints, releasing layered aromas of blackberry, black olive, and violet, accented by crushed pepper and a touch of thyme. The palate is supple yet structured, balancing generous black fruit with fresh acidity and fine, savoury tannins.
Elegant yet powerful, “Frigoule” pairs beautifully with slow-cooked beef dishes, lamb tajine, or grilled vegetables with herbed polenta. While approachable now, it will reward patience, evolving gracefully over the next 6–8 years. This is a Syrah that bridges Old World elegance with southern warmth, offering both aromatic lift and earthy complexity in every glass.
