Nicolas Millet Sancerre “Le Vallon” 2023 is a wine of blazing lightness — as if the terroir of Sancerre had been polished until it catches fire! The nose rises effortlessly from the glass with crystalline precision: white blossom, citrus zest, crushed chalk, and a whisper of orchard fruit. There is extraordinary aromatic lift and clarity, yet no trace of wood — the acacia maturation acting as a liberator of the fruit rather than a voice in the conversation.
On the palate, it is smooth and fresh, delicate yet quietly determined. Zesty citrus and subtle stone fruit glide across the tongue with seamless flow, delivering vibrancy without any sharp or intrusive acidity. The texture is supple, almost silken, yet tension hums beneath the surface.
