Description
Sparkling white wine. Ruhlmann-Schutz “Boisé des Dés” Extra Brut, Crémant d’Alsace, sparkling non-vintage. A blend of Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois, a variant of Chardonnay.
Lots of effervescence and very fine, swirling bead, nose is delicate, fresh and young, some very subtle biscuity, caramel and woody notes, hints of vegemite, while the palate has serious/old-school Champagne levels of acidity (the way Champagne used to be before climate change started flattening out this vital dimension), tangy and long, bone dry and invigorating. Will develop depth with age. The vivacious palate and complex vintage style particularly remind me of how Champagne used to be.
Drink now to 2028.
