Description
Château Lapelletrie Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2019. NEW VINTAGE
10% Cabernet Franc, and balance is Merlot. From the high plateau above the village of Saint-Émilion. Made by the very welcoming Biscaye family, in case you’re ever looking to book in for a visit (a tour of the ancient limestone cellars is unforgettable).
Vibrant and dark claret-ruby hue. The aromatics offer the kind of concentrated fruit you’d expect from a top year like 2019 but mellow and nuanced, inviting, with blackcurrant and blackberry, licorice and cloves, earth, and smoky oak notes, while the palate is vigorously youthful, full and smooth with fine Bordeaux tannins, assertive, full, and tight for the long haul. Will evolve lashings of complexity with time and make old bones. Damn tasty to drink now too!
