Description
Les Papilles de Gueissard, Côtes de Provence 2023.
30% each Mourvédre, Grenache, Syrah and 10% Cinsault. Screwcap. Flagship rosé made by Vignobles Gueissard from their estate in the heart of Bandol, though this wine is sold under the Côtes-de-Provence appellation. Made from winemaking couple Clément Minne and Pauline Giraud’s own vines.
“Papilles is made from Gueissard’s own vineyards, both owned and leased. A wine typically defined by a juicy, briny backbone, again a release defined this year by fruit brightness. More citrus spectrum than standard Provençal strawberries and cream, oranges and grapefruits with melons, wild strawberries and a jumble of garrigue herbs, some Campari flavours popping in there too. Closes with that brine tang, pleasing concentration from start to finish.”
Drink now to 2026.
