A tribute to the power and grace of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the 2020 “Vieilles Vignes” from Domaine du Galet des Papes delivers extraordinary depth and complexity, sourced from 80-year-old vines rooted in the region’s signature galets roulés. In the glass, it unfurls with intense aromas of ripe black cherry, raspberry compote, garrigue herbs, and a seductive hint of black pepper and smoked meat. On the palate, it’s full-bodied yet elegantly textured, revealing layers of dark fruit, licorice, and earthy minerality wrapped in fine, velvety tannins. A spine of vibrant acidity balances the wine’s richness, leading to a long, harmonious finish with echoes of dried thyme and cocoa.

Ideal for pairing with roasted lamb, duck breast with fig reduction, or aged hard cheeses, this cuvée will reward cellaring over 12–15 years, gaining further nuance and silkiness with age. A benchmark southern Rhône red that encapsulates both tradition and terroir.
