As much as Sancerre can be a delicious wine without any oak influence, when it’s fermented in barrel the change is truly transformative at every level. The nose here is very complex with swirling notes of kaffir lime leaf, ginger, jasmine, lemon myrtle, wood smoke, and lime marmalade wrapped around a core of crème brulée fruit, while the palate is textural, harmonious, dry, and juicy, with vibrant zing and minerality. The finish is clean, crisp, and long. Classic Sancerre with solid medium term cellaring prospects.
