100% Chardonnay from Montagny in the South of Burgundy. Barrel aged but the oak impact is fully integrated (30% new oak). From a tiny 1.85 hectare parcel of vines over 50-years-old.
Pale antique gold hue then: Bam! Powerful Chardonnay fruit in a barrel ferment direction, crystal clear aromatic precision and intensity, caramel biscuits, spice and tropicality, bronzed maturity yet fresh and singing from the glass, lemon tart and meringue, while the palate is buzzing with gentle but really long and persistent acidity, generous and mouth-coating, dry but svelte, textured and long with a modest oak twist at the very end. Extremely indulgent Premier Cru white Burgundy and a crowd pleaser. Natural cork.
