Description
Château Ladignac, Médoc Cru Bourgeois 2019.
67% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon but it’s the Cabernet that sets the Médoc style here.
Wines are awarded “Cru Bourgeois” status if they are successful in a long application and competitive assessment process with a candidate producer’s quality judged in a tasting of their last 5 vintages.
Dark purple in the glass with a luminous red rim, Ch. Ladignac 2019 offers a nose of precise cassis and plum fruit, subtle oak and caramel notes, while the palate is more serious than entry-level Médoc with structural intensity, ripe tannins in a medium-bodied frame (13.5%), easily drinkable now but savoury, chiseled and firm in its youth but with a bright future ahead. Definitely a wine to match with hearty food.
