I get SO many emails from people asking that we import more of this, so here it is! Decanting is highly recommended for this wine.
30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, and the balance is Merlot. Grown in the estate’s own vineyards directly adjacent to the prime heartland of Margaux so while this is just classified as Bordeaux it is very clear to taste its proximity to Margaux.
Dark purple. Very meaty and savoury nose, earthy, dark and restrained but strong, dense – and what a palate! Incredible balance of full generosity coupled to slate-y mouthfeel and mineral acidity. This is a serious wine for the price and really brings gravitas and artisan sophistication to the AOC Bordeaux category. Absolutely banging modern Bordeaux: classy yet wonderfully full of flavour and all-round sensory satisfaction. Decant.
