Description
La Réserve de Château Palais Cardinal, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2022. New vintage.
22% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance is Merlot. Rated 91/100 by James Suckling.
Guttural Saint-Émilion Grand Cru with a very dark fruit profile: blackberry, blueberry and cassis, with notes of rock, oak, vanilla, earth, brown sugar, and baking pastry, while the palate is young and vigorous, medium-bodied, and tannins that are fine but firm. Long in the mouth. Should age nicely. Superb value-for-money.

91/100 by James Suckling: “Dried herbs, chopped chilis and wild berries on the nose. It’s fragrant and gently herbal, with dusty tannins on the medium-bodied palate. 75% merlot, 15% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Try in 2027.”
