Château Siaurac Lalande-de-Pomerol 2016.
Varieties: A blend of 74% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 7% Malbec
Alcohol: 14% ABV
The 2016 Château Siaurac is a beautifully poised Lalande-de-Pomerol, now entering a particularly graceful stage of evolution. The nose reveals earthy sophistication: truffle, forest floor and cigar box intertwine with ripe plum, black cherry and a touch of dried violet. There is a quiet confidence here — an aromatic depth shaped by time rather than overt power.
On the palate, the wine is silky and composed, the Merlot lending plushness and generous dark fruit, while Cabernet Franc contributes aromatic lift and fine structure. A hint of Malbec adds subtle spice and depth. The tannins have softened into a velvety weave, giving the wine an elegant, seamless flow across the palate. Earthy, savoury nuances and gentle oak integration frame the fruit beautifully, leading to a long, refined finish marked by maturity and balance.
Drinking superbly now, yet capable of further cellaring over the next 5–8 years. An excellent match for roast lamb, beef Wellington or mature hard cheeses. A Bordeaux of silky elegance and deeply satisfying aged complexity. Rated 92/100 by James Suckling.
