Desertaux-Ferrand has an exquisite parcel up on the high slopes of Pommard where the gnarly old vines work hard to deliver a small crop of thick-skinned Pinot Noir bunches that result in a hauntingly beautiful wine of power and grace.
Lifted “pinosity”, that unique aromatic signature of Pinot Noir that is half pickled-wild cherries and half earthy forest floor, meaty and savoury, while the palate is generous and substantial, muscular but polished smooth, young and firm. Muscle dressed in silk!
