Description
Thunevin-Calvet “L’Amourette” 2019 from Côtes-du-Roussillon Villages.
60% Mourvèdre, 40% Grenache. Grown on flint-covered terraces overlooking the Mediterranean near to Maury. “Amourette” is a herb that grows wild in the vineyards of Maury.
Very ripe, powerful, and fruit-driven but dignified and nuanced with cheeky notes of cherries, blackberry, turkish delight, marzipan and fruit cake, while the palate is full-bodied, lavish in its generosity but pulls tight at the end with some serious grape tannin that keeps the finish savoury and food-friendly. Indulgent and very satisfying crowd-pleaser.
