Appellation: Haut-Médoc AOC, Bordeaux, France. Cru Bourgeois (the level below Grand Cru).

Château La Fon du Berger 2018 presents a focused and classically styled Haut-Médoc, balancing ripe fruit with disciplined structure. The nose reveals expressive aromas of blackcurrant and dark chocolate, layered with notes of black tea and fresh earth.
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with rounded tannins that frame the fruit. The Cabernet Sauvignon provides drive and structure, while the Merlot lends subtle roundness. Flavours of cassis, cocoa, and savoury oak spice unfold gradually, offering a halo of earthy complexity.
Currently youthful and with plenty of gas in the tank, this 2018 benefits from aeration and will reward further cellaring as the structure softens and secondary notes continue to emerge. Rated 90/100 by James Suckling, it is a poised and authentic expression of the Haut-Médoc. Ideal with grilled steak, lamb, or hearty mushroom dishes.
