Vivacious apple blossom, fresh citrus and toasted biscuit come charging from the glass, followed by a delicious lemon-tart character that captures exactly what makes this Crémant so much fun. It’s lively, bright and immediately inviting, with Sémillon providing the generous fruit core while Cabernet Sauvignon supplies the crisp backbone and a little extra gravitas.

And yes, Cabernet Sauvignon in a golden sparkling wine! It makes perfect sense. Just as Champagne is commonly made from a combination of white and black grapes, the same principle applies here. The Cabernet is picked cool at dawn and quickly pressed, separating the clear juice from its dark skins. The result is emphatically not a red or rosé, but a beautifully light golden Crémant.

The palate is energetic and finely textured, with frisky acidity driving that apple, citrus and biscuit character through a lively, long, dry finish. There’s enough substance to make it a terrific food wine, yet enough freshness to demand another glass.

Serve well chilled as an apéritif or with oysters, seafood, smoked salmon, salty nibbles and canapés. A cracking alternative to Champagne, and delicious now through 2030.
