Tasting Note:
Did I ever mention how much I love Bordeaux rosé?! In fact, to my personal taste, Bordeaux rosé is both the best and the best value rosé you can buy in France. Why? Because Bordeaux’s reputation is so squarely based on its historic red wine prowess, its rosé is therefore considered to be – by default – a subordinate “also ran” with no track record whatsoever. And yet it is thanks to the same principal grape varieties from which Bordeaux derives its great red wines (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc), that its rosé is also made, and it is these varieties that are so strong in their character that give rosé from Bordeaux such intense character and depth. And while the price of Provence rosé, for instance, has so completely lost the plot in recent years, the price of Bordeaux rosé is locked at the lowest entry point because “Bordeaux’s just a red wine region, right?!”

This rosé is exquisitely fine boned, crisp and dry, and yet it has fruit flesh and complexity to burn! 

Pairs effortlessly with pretty much any food you care to mention, from fish to prawns or lobster, to thin-sliced charcuterie served as a pre-dinner nibble, to any mediterranean vegetable dishes, asparagus, ratatouille, salads, chicken, buttery sauces or creamy cheeses like brie and camembert. This is a highly versatile kitchen partner!
