Domaine Juliette Avril’s 2023 Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge is a bold and powerful expression from a Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate I have been importing for many years now and this is a wine that always sells out fast. And this is the best vintage of this wine that I have ever tasted.
The nose bursts with ripe Christmas cake, blueberry jam, and dark chocolate, underpinned by Cherry Ripe and earthy undertones.
The palate is full and fleshy, delivering plush fruit framed by a firm yet polished grip. Grenache brings generosity, Shiraz adds spice and structure, while Carignan and Cinsault lend savoury complexity and juicy acidity.
