“La Fleur de Fonrozay” Bordeaux rosé 2024 made by the Union de Producteurs de Saint-Émilion. New vintage.
Cabernet Franc/Merlot.
Perhaps the most unexpected revelation of the last 20 years is that Bordeaux makes very good rosé and while prices of rosé from other parts of France have shot up, Bordeaux rosé has remained very reasonable. This new vintage of this wine is the best yet and delivers serious drinking pleasure disguised by a fun and friendly label.
The aromatics here offer bright and intense berry fruit, fluttering floral notes with delicate leafy complexity, talcum, and rose water, while the palate is crisp, dry, and light as a feather.
