Domaine Berthenet Givry Premier Cru 2023. NEW.
This is Domaine Berthenet’s top red and is made from a tiny Pinot Noir vineyard (0.2 hectares) in the prestigious Givry Premier Cru area in southern Burgundy. Aged in new and older oak barrels for a year. Just 4 barrels made every vintage (which gives 1200 bottles, of which we have secured an allocation of 84).
Hallmark violet perfume, freshly smooshed blackcurrant fruit, crisp and intense, strawberry, raspberry, cherries, licorice, baked bread, oregano, leather, forest floor, and cranberry sauce, while the palate is elegant, medium-bodied, smooth, finely tannic, and very easy to drink. A bargain for Premier Cru Burgundy Pinot.
