50% Pinot Noir, 50% Pinot Meunier from Champagne Testulat in Épernay. I met Vincent Testulat and his son when I was in the region in February this year and was blown away by the quality and value of their range.
Forthright aromatics of cocoa, toast, nuts, apple tart, fig, yeast, and vanilla meringue, while the palate is succinct and assertive, dry but textured and flavourful, long. Macho Blanc de Noirs style. Classic Champagne.
