Well, it’s what you’d expect from a 44-year-old Maury but there’s always something special about opening such an ancient elixir and discovering it still so full of flavour, warmth, and sweetness, caramel and molasses, golden syrup and butter, candied peel and woody earthiness. An urbane explosion of taste. 16%. Natural cork. Drink now to 2030 – but do these wines ever really die?
Incidentally I have classed this as both red and white because it is really just a deep amber/caramel/walnut in colour and neither red nor white nor rosé.
