While prices for Pomerol have gone through the roof in the last 5 years, those of neighbouring Lalande de Pomerol have held steady and continued to deliver a buxom Merlot-driven-punch more than worthy of its noble name. Château La Vieille Dynastie 2020 has a high impact nose of cassis, blueberry, chocolate, smoked meat, and floral nuances, while the palate is ample, soft and fleshy. Think Pomerol for a third of the price – and much less raw new oak.
