Description
Château Guibeau “Cuvée Justine” 2020 from Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion, one of the “satellite” villages of Saint-Émilion.
Merlot/Cabernet Franc/Cabernet Sauvignon.
A spectacular estate 15 minutes north-east of Saint-Émilion, high on a rocky limestone plateau overlooking the forests of the Dordogne. Puisseguin is one of the “satellites” of Saint-Émilion and gives wines of greater precision and classicism than most of Saint-Émilion itself.
The fruit here is chiselled and fresh, cassis and blackberry jam, with buttery/smoky/toasty notes, cigars and oak, cedar and boysenberry, slate and earth, while the palate is at the full end of medium-bodied, tightly knit and saturated with flavour that travels smoothly and completely through mouth. Neat and precisely tailored from an epic vintage with great potential in the cellar too but an absolute delight to drink now.
