Description
5. Château Le Loup Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2018.
50% Cabernet Franc, 50% Merlot.
This new vintage of Château Le Loup is a powerhouse but the unusually high proportion of Cabernet Franc maintains its overall elegance and the drive of the wine. It has aromatic intensity but it’s no “fruit-bomb”: smoky and delicately barrel aged, blackberry jam, bark and rock, all strong but defined and not over the top. Palate is big, juicy, with firm and fine tannins, length, and cellar potential. A very satisfying and extremely sharply priced Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.
Drink now to 2030.
