Getting Cabernet ripe in Bordeaux is a dark art and one that winemaker David Latorse has absolutely nailed in this stunning 2022. It was a perfect year in the vineyard and that simple fact shines out in the bright cassis fruit, deep and expressive, rich without being jammy, perfumed without leafiness, an aura of oak glowing in the background, while the palate is medium bodied and utterly slurpable, round and smooth, easy to drink. Not one for the long term but an absolute treat in its youth.
