While prices for Pomerol have gone through the roof in the last 5 years, those of neighbouring Lalande de Pomerol have held steady and continued to deliver a buxom Merlot-driven-punch more than worthy of its noble name. In addition, Château Vieille Dynastie, made by the ultra-experienced and dynamic winemaker Fred Borderie, adds to the blend Cabernet Sauvignon for varietal lift and tannins, and Cabernet Franc for finesse and perfume. 2022 was an extremely fine Bordeaux vintage and this wine has great fruit depth, freshly smooshed blackberries, glossy blackcurrant jam, black cherries, spice, earth, and oak, while the palate is full with firming structure, grip, and length.
